Sarah Coleman Studio
Sarah Coleman is an award winning Plein Air painter, portrait artist, and illustrator. Working primarily in watercolor and ink, she has developed a way of preserving and displaying her watercolors by affixing watercolor paper to cradled wood panels and sealing the art surface under wax; uniquely allowing the watercolor to be enjoyed, like an oil or acrylic painting, without being placed behind glass.
She began her journey toward an art career as a young child under the tutelage of her artist grandmother, who taught her the basic principles of drawing, balance, and color theory during their days together, and read to her from fairy tale books illustrated by Arthur Rackham and Jessie Willcox Smith in the evenings. She continued her education in the arts receiving a Bachelor's degree in History with a minor in Fine Arts.
Her paintings hang in private collections across the country and her illustrations can be viewed in a variety of published books.
